Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at the Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) in Ballarat. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to consumers requiring 24/7 mental health and psychosocial rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing evidence-based nursing care to consumers and carers within an inpatient mental health setting. This includes conducting biopsychosocial and risk assessments, developing treatment plans aligned with recovery goals, and supporting therapeutic programs including group and individual psychosocial interventions.
In addition, you will maintain accurate documentation, communication, and clinical handover in line with policy, contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment, and support reduction of restrictive practices. You will also participate in supervision, student support, quality improvement, and portfolio responsibilities.
As part of our dynamic and supportive team, you will work collaboratively across rotating morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
