As a Crushing Operator, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our milling train, including turbines and boiler generators. You'll also provide support to shift trades, operators, and the Operations Coordinator. This role involves shift work during the crushing season, including weekends and overtime, and day work during the maintenance period.
This position will be based at Inkerman Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its stunning landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a fantastic lifestyle with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.
Your Role in Action
* Keep things running smoothly: Monitor mills, turbines, alternators, gearing, bearings, oil pressures and temperatures etc to ensure crushing of the cane is efficient and productive
* Challenge your computer skills: Operate complex sequences, and through individual operation of equipment, conduct station operations using a computer interface.
* Monitor and maintain quality: Identify leaks, process problems and report to the supervisor with accompanying paperwork to allow progression of repairs
* Keeping clean and safe: Maintain good housekeeping practices around the shredder and milling train turbines and platforms, keeping the area safe.
* Ensure efficiency: Carry out minor and regular maintenance on mills to ensure efficient and smooth running of the milling train and assisting trade persons.
* Learn and Improve: We will support your development through formal theoretical training and hands-on experience to help you progress to a Level 6 Operator.
