24 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Craigieburn, VIC
New opportunity for a motivated and experienced Senior Security Engineer (Physical) to support the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of physical security systems across the Bank's critical operational sites, including note printing, processing and distribution facilities.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the end‐to‐end delivery of physical security minor works, providing technical leadership, engineering advice and hands‐on oversight of security systems for both internal stakeholders and external service providers. Your proactive approach, strong stakeholder management skills and customer‐focused mindset will be key to your success.
* Provide specialist engineering advice on physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and perimeter protection.
* Deliver minor works projects end to end, including scope development, cost estimation, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, installation oversight and close‐out.
* Monitor system performance and coordinate maintenance of security and associated electrical control systems, hardware and software.
* Review designs, drawings and technical documentation to ensure compliance with standards, risk treatments and operational requirements.
* Perform site inspections, verify works, manage defects and produce assurance and handover documentation.
* Manage contractors and suppliers delivering security installations, upgrades and maintenance services.
* Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, codes, standards and workplace safety requirements.
* Translate complex technical and security requirements into clear advice for technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Support continuous improvement of the Bank's physical security engineering standards and asset lifecycle management.
About You
* Proven experience as a Physical Security Engineer delivering minor works projects in commercial or industrial environments.
* Strong knowledge of physical security systems, including alarm, access control and CCTV solutions.
* Good understanding of IP networks, infrastructure and IT requirements that support security systems.
* Experience monitoring contractor performance and managing installation and maintenance activities.
* Demonstrated ability to estimate, review and validate quotes and tenders for security works.
* Experience developing scopes of work, technical specifications and project documentation.
* Working knowledge of relevant security, electrical and building standards and regulations.
* A strong customer service mindset with a high level of accountability and professionalism.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Formal qualifications in physical security systems and/or tertiary qualifications in electronics, IT, electrical or communications engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Willingness to learn and support the Bank's existing electronic and physical security treatments.
* Current valid VIC Security Licence (or ability to obtain).
* Ability to hold Commonwealth Security Clearance - NV1.
Reporting & Team
You will report to the National Manager, Security Engineering and form part of the Security and Engineering Team within the Infrastructure and Workplace Facilities Management Department.
