Maintenance Technician - Day Shift
Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our Fulfillment Centre (FC) in Horsley Park, Sydney.
The focus of the Maintenance Technician role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to, to perform preventative maintenance on time to a high standard, and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.
This is a full‑time day shift role. The current shift pattern includes 10‑hour shifts x 4 days and one day working during the weekend.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
* Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
* React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue.
* Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
* Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers.
* Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
About the Team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.
Basic Qualifications
* Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner), or equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
* Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
* Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems.
* Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings.
* Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
* Experience working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with CMMS systems.
* Experience with sortation machines.
* Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners.
* Experience with print and apply machines.
