Total Asphalt is looking for an experienced and motivated Asphalt Supervisor to join our team.
In this role, you'll be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of our asphalt crew. You'll oversee the manufacturing, delivery and laying of asphalt while making sure safety is the number one priority on every job. You'll also mentor and lead the crew to deliver the high-quality work our clients expect from us.
About You
* 5 – 10yrs experience in the asphalt industry, with strong knowledge of different mix types, their applications, temperatures and compaction techniques.
* At least 3 – 5yrs experience supervising asphalt crews.
* Thorough knowledge of asphalt and bituminous surfacing, profiling and a good understanding of traffic management.
* Mechanical knowledge of all asphalt plant and equipment.
* Strong communicator who can liaise effectively between our internal teams and keep clients in the loop on daily operations.
* Able to complete accurate daily reports on time.
* Good at planning and organising jobs from start to finish — coordinating manufacturing, trucking and laying to avoid any stoppages on the paver.
* A proactive can‐do attitude that can handle unexpected challenges, whether it's the weather, equipment issues or crew related matters.
* Be hands on and willing to jump in and help on the paving crew when needed (whether it's for training or when we are short staffed).
* A keen eye for detail, particularly around material placement, joint construction and final mat quality.
Requirements
* Current and unrestricted HR license as a minimum.
* Must be Australian permanent resident or citizen.
* Must hold White Card and First Aid Certification.
