Are you passionate about advancing Indigenous rights and understanding social attitudes toward Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples? The Australian National University (ANU) School of Medicine and Psychology is inviting applications for a prestigious Postdoctoral Fellow position—open only to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

This identified role is part of an ARC Indigenous Discovery Project led by Dr. Olivia Evans. The research aims to uncover how prejudice can be reduced and how pathways to non-Indigenous allyship can be strengthened. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in conducting, publishing, and presenting collaborative research that fosters social change.

The university offers a supportive and inclusive research environment, flexible work arrangements, designated parent rooms, generous parental leave, and career development programs. The appointment is full-time and fixed term until December 2028, with a competitive salary package of $87,135 to $109,369 per annum plus 17% superannuation.

What You'll Be Doing:

Conducting research independently and in collaboration with the project team.

Producing academic publications and conference presentations.

Supporting project coordination, including ethics approvals and reporting.

Contributing to a diverse and inclusive research community at ANU.

Assisting with student mentoring and possibly teaching (depending on interest).

Who Should Apply:
You should have (or be near completion of) a PhD in psychology, sociology, political science, Indigenous studies, or a related discipline. Experience working with Indigenous communities and a passion for social research will strengthen your application. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

How to Apply:
Submit a current CV and a two-page statement addressing your suitability based on the selection criteria. Interviews will be conducted either in person or remotely based on your preference.
