In order to deliver on the University's ambitious strategic plan, we are seeking academics who are passionate about improving health outcomes and/or health equity in the local, national and global communities, who are committed to teaching and research, and are team players ready to contribute across the broad field of academic activities.The Discipline of Medical Imaging Science offers undergraduate and postgraduate Diagnostic Radiography programs and a Master of Medical Imaging Science with CT, MRI, Breast and Nuclear Medicine Hybrid Imaging specialisations. In 2021 we moved to the new Susan Wakil Health Building at the Camperdown campus and established new practical teaching spaces and equipment.The Sydney School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a Professional Practitioner to assist with the coordination, teaching and assessments in clinical placement units of study in the undergraduate and graduate entry master programs.Your key responsibilities will be toUndertake teaching and training of students in a simulated or real clinical setting, applying clinical experience and expertise to inform best practice teachingDeliver professional standards training and education to students to prepare them to meet eligibility requirements for completion of a degree leading to professional registrationEngage in high-quality clinical teaching and learning experiences which meet the University's expectations and standards for clinical education staff. Develop teaching, subject and assessment materials under the supervision of more senior clinicians or academic staffApplies professional clinical experience and knowledge to inform clinical educational practice, delivery, and reformApplies expertise in clinical practice to provide training and support to other academic staff on effective, innovative and contemporary clinical practiceContribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabledMaintains an understanding of the University's strategic agenda and actively contributes to furthering that agendaActively represent the University in partner organisations, clinical settings, and the community, maintaining productive links between the university and clinical or industry partnersUndertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.About youBachelor or Master's degree, registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board Australia as a Diagnostic Radiographer and holder of a Radiation Licence with the NSW EPADemonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate students in the provision of outstanding patient care and to meet professional, ethical and accreditation standards expected in the health care settingDemonstrated experience in contemporary clinical teaching practicesrecent experience working in a clinical setting of general, theatre, mobile or computed tomography radiography, and proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform clinical practice teaching (more than three years post accredited primary healthcare qualification)Experience in clinical or simulated teaching and learning in a tertiary environment (or clinical placement), as evidenced by student coaching and skills developmentDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with evidence of interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build effective relationships with students, academic colleagues, and clinical partners .To keep our community safe, please be aware of our COVID safety precautions which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
