About the RoleReporting to the Senior Waste
Management Officer, this role supports the planning,
implementation, and monitoring of the City's waste management
programs. The role operates across both operational and strategic
initiatives, with responsibilities spanning community engagement,
compliance, and service improvements.
The position is responsible for:
* Supporting the delivery of waste management programs,
including recycling and resource recovery initiatives.
* Reviewing and assess Waste Management Plans submitted by
developers and businesses.
* Assisting with the administration and auditing of
waste-related fees, charges, and customer service
requests.
* Contributing to the development, implementation, and review
of strategic waste documents, operational guidelines, and local
laws.
* Engaging with residents, contractors, government agencies,
and internal teams to ensure compliance, education, ad service
improvements.
* Preparing reports, briefings, and recommendations informed
by waste management data and performance metrics.
About you As a suitable candidate, you
would be passionate about waste management, sustainability, and
making a real difference in your community. You would be adaptable
and ready to take on a challenge and be able to demonstrate the
below requirements:
* Qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability,
Education, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a Waste Management or related role.
* Intermediate computing, numeracy, and literacy skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
competing tasks
* A Customer-focused approach with excellent communication
and problem-solving skills
* Analytical and research abilities, with experience in data
interpretation and report preparation.
* Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
* A current C Class Driver's Licence
