Lawyer - Technology and Commercial Contracting
Our Macquarie Global Legal and Governance Group Commercial team are a group of high-performing individuals that provide legal and strategic advice as well as deal execution capabilities on complex and high-value technology transactions. From negotiating SaaS contracts, to advising on cutting-edge financial services use cases leveraging the power of generative AI, you will play a key role in supporting the Group's aggressive technology strategy.

What role will you play?
As a Technology and Commercial Lawyer in the Group's central Commercial Legal team, you will work in a dynamic and innovative environment supporting the technology requirements of each of the Group's four operating businesses – Banking and Financial Services, Commodities and Global Markets, Macquarie Asset Management and Macquarie Capital. Utilising your exceptional attention to detail, demonstrated risk-management awareness and commercial acumen, you will ensure contracts with our technology and commercial partners are reviewed, drafted and negotiated to be fit for purpose, ensuring our businesses can execute on their technology strategies while legal and regulatory risks are effectively managed across the Group.
What you offer
Admitted to practice in Australia with at least 3 years' technology contracting experience either in-house or in private practice with expertise drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of contracts dealing with SaaS and other cloud-based offerings; software and technology licensing; and regulated outsourcing arrangements
An innovative mindset and openness to change
Team player with the desire to provide quality client service to a range of internal clients with a diverse portfolio of local and global projects
Experience in technology within the financial services industry is valuable; relevant experience in other industry sectors will also be considered
Experience advising on data, privacy, fraud and cyber security; prudential regulation; and/or emerging technologies such as natural language systems and generative AI is highly regarded
