In Western Australia,Keolis is theproud operator of Keolis WA. We operate a fleet of over 500 buses on behalf of the Public Transport Authority from our depots located in Bayswater, Forrestfield, Geraldton, Henley Brook, Kalamunda, Morley, Redcliffe and Welshpool.
About the role
Keolis WA is seeking a highly organised and motivated School Bus Manager. As the School Bus Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management and operation of school bus services in the Perth metro area and regional country towns, ensuring compliance with both internal and contractual performance standards.
You will provide leadership and direct liaison to the School Bus Service division of the Public Transport Authority. Also provides direction and communication to Parents, Children and Schools to ensure the success, growth and profitability of the company in line with Keolis WA's Aims, Purpose and Values.
Key responsibilities of the role
* Responsible for overall compliance of the School Bus division as outlined in the contract.
* Required to be involved in the future development of the School Bus division.
* Responsible for compliance with all legal requirements for the company's service delivery functions within the School Bus area.
* Responsible for compliance and Asset protection of the Orange School Bus fleet.
* Examines operational trends and makes recommendations on improvements to work practices and equipment within the School Bus area.
* Suggest operational solutions to improve the operating efficiency of the company.
* Responsible for the day to day management of all staff and their performance.
* Responsible for staff evaluations and recommendations related to salary / wage and employment conditions within the School Bus area.
* Responsible for effective communications of company policies and procedures to staff within the School Bus area.
* Required to be involved in tendering and acquiring additional School Bus Service contracts.
* Responsible to ensure each School Bus contract is operated strictly as per the PTA's School Bus Services requirements.
* Responsible to ensure each School Bus contract is operated strictly as per the Company's Safety Management Plan and other relevant policies and procedures.
* Accountable for the relationships with the Authority, Schools and parents/carers.
* Required to undertake effective measures to ensure Management and Employee compliance with the BMS (Business Management System) related legislation in the areas under their control.
Skills and experience
* Preferably 5 years' experience in the management of a service business, preferably transport or public transport related.
* High level skills and expertise in successfully managing to achieve set goals and outcomes through improving performance, quality and customer focus.
* High level of skills and expertise in development and maintenance of relationships with the company's major clients and suppliers.
* Have an excellent problem-solving ability and experience dealing with high-stress environments
* Strong writing and document management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A sound understanding of Workplace Health and Safety regulations and practices
* Intermediate, practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite
* Knowledge of the Student Transport Assistance Policy (desirable)
* Working with Children Check
