Senior Engineering Program Manager
Job Description:
This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team of skilled engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of engineering artefacts throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and strategic oversight, guiding investigations, documentation, and compliance with engineering standards.
The job involves planning and monitoring engineering activities, making multi-domain decisions, and maintaining secure technical records. The Team Lead also plays a key role in mentoring staff, driving process improvements, and contributing to business development through bid preparation and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality engineering artefacts
* Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement and process optimisation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
* Mentor and coach team members to improve their skills and performance
* Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations
* Monitor and control project budgets and resources
Requirements:
To be successful in this position, you will need:
* A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
* At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role within the engineering industry
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
* Defence security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
* Australian citizenship
