Assistant Manager - Finance A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the team as Assistant Manager - Finance. This role would suit a Senior Accountant or similar finance professional looking to step into a broader position with leadership responsibilities, while remaining hands-on across core finance activities. About the Role Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Assistant Manager - Finance will support the day-to-day running of the finance function and assist in ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and smooth financial operations across the organisation. This is a varied role with a mix of technical accounting, operational finance, and team support responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day operations of the finance function Assist in coordinating the work of the Finance Team, including workflow support and day-to-day guidance Oversee core finance processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, fixed assets, and related administration Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with month-end processes Monitor budgets and assist with variance analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Assist with audit preparation, including working papers and auditor queries Help ensure compliance with payroll, superannuation, GST, FBT, and other statutory obligations Maintain and improve finance procedures, controls, and systems Provide financial support and information to internal stakeholders Work closely with the CFO on reporting, compliance, and operational matters About You You will ideally bring: Experience in a Senior Accountant or similar finance role Strong technical accounting skills, including reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and compliance requirements A solid understanding of payroll, GST, BAS, and related finance processes The confidence to support or supervise staff, or a genuine interest in stepping into this area Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines Good communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across the business Relevant accounting or finance qualifications, with CPA, CA.
