Junior Electrical Engineer – Solar & BESS (Project Development)

Our client—a global force in smart energy solutions—is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer Lead to join their growing project development team in South Australia. This office-based role offers the perfect opportunity for engineers with 5+ years of hands-on experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects to deepen their technical expertise and shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure in Australia.
Responsibilities
Conduct feasibility assessments, site screening, and technical reviews for large-scale clean energy projects
Support grid connection documentation (AEMO/NSP submissions) and liaise with consultants on technical matters
Participate in technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, and internal strategy sessions
Help develop technical specifications and cost estimates during EPC tendering processes
What You Bring
Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Renewable, or Power Systems Engineering
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS development
Sound understanding of AEMO requirements, NER compliance, and Australian grid connection processes
Familiarity with grid studies, project design tools, and energy modelling software (pvDesign)
Sharp attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Willingness to grow within a fast-paced, technically driven team
