Senior Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Program Facilitator

Opportunity

Provider of Healthcare Services to Public Prisons across Victoria invites a Senior AOD Group Facilitator. Attractive base salary of $105,000 plus super. Part‐time position (0.5 FTE) at Melbourne Assessment Prison and Metropolitan Remand Centre.

About the Role

GEO Healthcare delivers primary healthcare to men in public prisons. The AOD Senior Program Facilitator works within a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists to screen, assess and intervene in AOD concerns for people in custody.

Key responsibilities include:

* Screening, assessment and treatment planning for prisoners with AOD concerns.
* Providing group facilitation focused on harm minimisation, drug awareness and relapse prevention.
* Maintaining accurate client case notes, treatment summaries, and reports; entering data into information management systems.
* Meeting key performance indicators and working a set schedule.
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and cross‐agency partners.
* Participating in professional development, supervision and mentoring.
Qualifications and Experience
* Senior clinician experience in providing AOD support, treatment and interventions or extensive experience in the AOD sector.
* Broad knowledge in AOD assessment, harm minimisation education, person‐centred care and recovery‐focused support for people with dual diagnosis.
* Experience facilitating group programmes centred on drug awareness, harm reduction and relapse prevention.
* Experience completing quality client case notes, treatment summaries and reports and entering data into information management systems.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build and maintain positive collegial and stakeholder relationships.
* Knowledge of the Victorian Criminal Justice System including the role of courts, prisons, parole and community corrections.
* Ability to work collaboratively with others, both cross‐agency and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience providing AOD services in correctional environments (desirable).
Other Requirements
* Valid Australian driver's licence and ability to travel between locations.
* Ability to work within a prison setting and have direct contact with people in prison.
* Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
* Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
