We currently have a fantastic opportunity for you to kick start your finance career as our Hotel Accounts Receivable Officer in our Finance team.
Reporting to our Financial Controller this is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated professional who wants to progress their finance career. In this role, you will be learning from our Assistant Financial Controller on the daily operations of the department, directly overseeing and assisting with accounts receivable and cashiering functions.
What we're looking for is excellent bookkeeping and reconciliation skills in the following areas:
- Accounts Receivable invoicing and debt collection
- Monitor debtor accounts and report balances weekly to management
- Hold & take minutes for bimonthly Credit Meetings
- Credit Card payment reconciliations
- Complete daily Cashier Banking and monthly float audits
- Prepare daily bank reconciliation and process relevant journals
- Support the finance team and assist with preparation of month end journals and reports, as required
- Maintain appropriate filing systems, customer and financial records and archive historical data
- Assist External Auditors with financial records and assist with Accounts Payable & Payroll related duties as required
**What we're looking for**:
We are seeking a motivated finance professional who is process driven, has excellent problem solving, and communication skills. And you're able to easily build rapport with all stakeholders as well as:
- Previous experience in night audit or a similar position in multi-outlet Hotel
- Strong working knowledge of a Hotel PMS - Opera preferred
- Sound accounting skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills to coordinate muliple tasks and meet deadlines autonomously
- Exceptional customer service, grooming & communication skills
- A great hands on team player, who proactively looks to ensure good financial practices and controls are maintained.
- Flexible and adaptable to the fast paced & dynamic hotel industry
- The flexibility to work the occasional week-end to complete end of month reporting
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems and general ledger software
- Relevant diploma or degree in Accounting highly regarded
- Experience in hotels/hospitality/retail desired but not essential
- Current Australian work rights, enabling you to work full-time
