Schools Workshop Presenter - Australian Youth Climate Coalition
Your role will involve delivering in‐school workshops for high school students and potentially ongoing mentoring. Another vital responsibility is establishing and tracking relationships with schools.
Ideal Candidate
* Excellent relationship‐building and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading and facilitating group workshops.
* Strong organisational skills; is able to plan and reflect.
* A valid Working With Children Check.
* Experience working with school students.
* A passion for climate justice.
Key responsibilities
As Mentors
* Organise and facilitate in‐school workshops with high schools by liaising with schools, teachers or students. Each workshop will generally have no more than 15‐20 students and be skills focused.
* Provide ongoing support for students which involves organising and facilitating face‐to‐face meetings, Zoom, phone or email communication.
* Track communication and relationship building with students and schools by logging data into the Schools Visit Log, Schools Campaign Log and Nation Builder.
As Schools Team
* Work with the state Schools Coordinators to develop resources as well as tailored support for high school students, such as organising the Student Climate Action Network meetings and trainings.
* Attend Schools Team meetings (online or offline) and actively contribute to the AYCC WA team through online meetings and events.
* Provide in‐school presentations when needed (this may include presenting to a larger number of students).

Time Required: Flexible depending on how much time you have available! Anywhere from a few hours a month to a day a week.
Training: A large number of training workshops are available to our volunteers, including Climate justice, Campaigning 101, and Facilitation skills.
