About the Team
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter Mac. Funds raised support innovative research technologies and resources to advance cancer research and care.
About the Role
The Communications Coordinator helps bring the impact of Peter Mac's world-leading cancer research, treatment and patient care to life through storytelling. You will work across fundraising programs to connect supporters with the difference their contributions make for patients, families and cancer research. You will create high-quality communications that reflect the values, impact and vision of Peter Mac, coordinating with the Brand, Communications and Digital team and collaborating with internal stakeholders to strengthen supporter relationships and fundraising outcomes.
You will proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve content across channels to resonate with diverse audiences and showcase the impact of philanthropic support.
Key responsibilities include:
* Creating engaging and impactful content across a range of channels and audiences to inspire support and fundraising.
* Providing communications support and advice to fundraising programs and campaigns.
* Developing donor, campaign and organisational storytelling that connects supporters with the impact of their giving.
* Ensuring consistent messaging and brand application across all communications materials.
* Managing and maintaining the Foundation's communications assets and resources.
* Supporting the ongoing development and stewardship of the Peter Mac Cancer Foundation brand.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality communications that build awareness, engagement and support for the Foundation.

Skills
Essential Requirements
* Experience:
* Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or similar
* Minimum two years' experience in a communications role
* Demonstrated experience producing content for a range of platforms and audiences
* Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to deliver multi-faceted campaigns
* Skills:
o Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading

Key Accountabilities

* Create compelling content to inspire existing and prospective donors to give to Peter Mac
* Create content for a range of platforms and audiences including but not limited to impact reports, social media, website, and e-marketing to engage and inform people about Peter Mac.
* Research, interview and write stories for digital and print that accurately and sensitively represent patients, and the Peter Mac brand.
* Help deliver the Foundation's content strategy by assisting in the development of marketing collateral to support the fundraising teams' engagement strategy with donors and supporters.
* Interpret and effectively respond to a brief by delivering communications solutions that align with the specified requirements and objectives.
* Create event communications including briefings, presentations and speeches as required.
* Provide different content types and messaging for a range of audiences to identify and deliver content which will drive results for the fundraising teams.
* Collaborate on the implementation of the Foundation's digital and social media strategies.
* Manage the Foundation's communications materials and assets
* Build and maintain a repository of consented patient and researcher case studies
* Maintain the Foundation's image and video library
* Create and manage the Foundation's collection of promotional and marketing materials
* Proactively source opportunities to develop and deliver a range of assets for the fundraising teams to leverage in their communications with donors and supporters
* Support the management of the Foundation's brand
* Review copy and materials to ensure the Foundation and Peter Mac's reputation is maintained
* Ensure content across all channels adheres to brand and style guidelines
* Ensure brand application and messaging is consistent
* Works collaboratively with Peter Mac colleagues to ensure alignment in the Peter Mac and Foundation brands
* Work with external suppliers to deliver on-brand communications materials
* Proactively develop and deliver content that raises the profile of the Foundation as a trusted nonprofit organisation
* Provide communications support to the Fundraising programs
* Provide communications subject matter expertise to fundraising projects across the Foundation
* Provide timely and effective contributions that meet the fundraising team needs and supports the fundraising strategy
* Foster and promote collaboration across teams to improve communication efficiencies
* Maintain strong effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
