The After-Hours Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing after-hours education support to the wards of Wollongong Hospital which includes surgical, medical and specialty wards. The role provides the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical education at the ward/unit level. Such education may include providing support for new nursing staff, meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff, and the delivery of formal education such as transition to practice training days, venepuncture and cannulation workshops.
The After-Hours Clinical Nurse Educator will work in collaboration with the in-charge nurses, after hours Medical Officers, after hours bed managers, and the ICU Liaisons to identify areas in need of clinical support and to provide point of care education. The After-Hours Clinical Nurse Educator will ensure ongoing communication with the relevant ward based Clinical Nurse Educator, Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Manager, and wider hospital leadership team.
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Qualifications
* Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
* Working With Children Check (WWCC).
* Current AHPRA Registration.
* Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications with extensive relevant clinical experience or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
