Job Summary:
In this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities will include clear identification of required materials, and details for how they will be stored and shipped. Coordination activities will include reporting of material work package statuses for installation. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite.
You should be willing to work from the Brisbane Project Office a minimum of four (4) days per week.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities: Material Coordination
* Performs material coordination activities within material discipline of responsibility to ensure the accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installation
* Monitors planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag and uses Supply Chain Automation tools
* Continuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirements
* Coordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work‐around plans
Material Planning
* Verifies that material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and identified for storage and control prior to distribution to Construction for installation
* Maintains direct working relationship with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and/or Construction Coordinator to ensure that construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of the construction work
* Monitors Engineering and Supply Chain deliverable schedules to ensure they will meet the construction schedule
* Supports ad-hoc analysis and reporting requirements
* Assists in data input where necessary to maintain consistency in Supply Chain and Material Management information
* Performs and coordinates data input requirements in an accurate and timely manner
* Recognizes deficiencies in source documentation and ensures that corrections are made
* Assists in the early identification of surplus or unneeded materials and stays conscious of unused materials in staging areas
* Participates in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities
* Coordinates with warehouse and laydown yard personnel for materials to be issued direct to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storage
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Basic knowledge of Field Engineering disciplines, work processes, and the deliverables produced.
* Knowledge in Field Engineering and Construction activities, and knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures related to materials management functions.
* Knowledge of vendor, fabricator, contractor, Customer and how outside data systems interact with procurement automation tools. Knowledge of Bechtel's Digital Supply Chain System or Oracle's E-Business Suite is preferred.
* Experience with work packaging, and materials status reporting.
* Basic skill in working with and communicating effectively with supervisors of other project functional groups, primarily contractors/Vendors, Engineering, Construction, and Project Management.
