Overview

Raytheon Australia is a trusted capability partner of the Australian Defence Force, providing technology solutions that contribute to the defence of the nation and a sovereign Australian industrial capability. Our Legal team is looking for an in‐house Senior Legal Counsel to provide effective, efficient, proactive, timely and cost‐effective legal advice and guidance to enable business operations.

Responsibilities
* Work with and support internal clients by providing practical, efficient legal advice across a range of legal topics.
* Lead and manage complex legal matters, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
* Team up with internal clients to support business objectives by delivering legal training, improving processes, sharing knowledge, and ensuring legal compliance.
* Collaborate with Raytheon Australia and the wider Raytheon and RTX Legal, Contracts and Compliance teams.
* Manage legal compliance and implement legal compliance programmes and frameworks.
* Provide legal advice on employment law matters.
* Negotiate, review and draft commercial real‐estate leases.
* Advise on environment, health and safety matters.
* Maintain corporate records and assist the Company Secretary with the preparation, maintenance and filing of corporate documents.
* Advise on intellectual property matters.
* Manage disputes and litigation involving Raytheon Australia.
* Advise on contract and supply chain matters.
* Draft and maintain legal policies.
* Work with leaders across the business to ensure operations are aligned with Raytheon Australia, Raytheon and RTX policies and procedures.
* Engage outside counsel when required and manage costs to achieve value for money.
Qualifications & Experience

A Degree in Law and a current Practising Certificate in an Australian State or Territory.
Admission as a lawyer in an Australian State or Territory.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience after completing a university degree.
Expert or mastery level knowledge of the legal areas generally required to support a large commercial entity.
Advanced knowledge of privacy, commercial real estate, labour and employment law within the Function / Product Line and ability to link and assess impact on projects, programmes or systems.
Post‐admission experience as a lawyer in private practice and/or an in‐house role, in a commercial environment in a law firm and/or in‐house.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be an Australian citizen and/or eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to NV1.
