About the Role
The role is to work with the current Chemical Pathologist to provide supervision of all aspects of the provision of chemical pathology services to all SydPath clients. These clients include patients and doctors in SVHN, St Vincent's Campus, other specialists and general practitioners. Other requirements include supporting all accreditation requirements, quality assurance activities, teaching as needed to medical practitioners, medical students, laboratory scientists and others as well as supporting research within the department and for external clients.
Selection Criteria
* Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA)
* Possess, or be eligible to possess Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2009
* The appointee may be a recently graduated or experienced pathologist with demonstrated knowledge, skills and high standards of practice in Chemical Pathology as required
* Demonstrated ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices commensurate with work in an academic teaching hospital environment
* Demonstrated knowledge, experience and commitment to the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation
* Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary environment with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels
* Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
