Full-time Contract – 37.5 hours per week – Aboriginal Male Identified position – $88,861 - $103,623 per annum (Total Effective Package: $110,597 - $127,354).
About the Role
The Early Years Aboriginal Family Support Worker provides culturally protected, educational and responsive support to infants, young children and their families referred to the Early Years Family Support Program.
Responsibilities
* Provide parenting and life skills support to vulnerable families with infants and young children, and educate and support infants and young children to thrive in their families' care.
* Communicate effectively with the Alice Springs Aboriginal community and extended family members, demonstrating awareness of and sensitivity to local Aboriginal culture and history.
* Use a computer for data entry and case note recording.
* Travel to and work from remote locations as required, maintaining appropriate levels of health and fitness.
Qualifications
* Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community.
* Qualification (Cert IV or above) in a relevant field or experience in one or more of the following areas – family support, early childhood, education, or health, or working towards a qualification in this area.
* Current NT Drivers Licence.
* Ability and willingness to travel to and work from remote locations.
