The Opportunity

Stannards is entering an exciting new phase of national growth, with a strategic focus on acquiring and integrating high quality accounting and advisory firms across Australia. We are seeking an Internal M&A Manager to play a key role in identifying, evaluating and executing these opportunities.

Working alongside senior leadership and Pemba Capital Partners, you will lead the end-to-end M&A process across target identification, evaluation, transaction execution and integration.

This is a rare opportunity to move beyond advising on transactions and take ownership of acquisitions that will directly shape the future of a leading professional services firm.

Key Responsibilities
* Execute Stannards' Board-approved acquisition strategy
* Identify, assess and engage potential acquisition targets across Australia
* Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, intermediaries and industry advisors
* Monitor market trends, industry developments and competitor activity to inform acquisition priorities
* Conduct financial analysis, valuation modelling and commercial due diligence
* Evaluate strategic fit, risks and synergies of potential opportunities
* Prepare business cases and Board papers to support investment decisions
* Coordinate internal and external stakeholders including legal, tax and financial advisors
* Support negotiations, transaction structuring and deal completion
Integration & Growth
* Lead integration planning and implementation activities
* Partner with Finance, HR, IT and operational leaders to realise acquisition synergies
* Monitor post-acquisition performance and support ongoing optimisation initiatives
* Contribute to change management and cultural integration activities
About You

You are a commercially astute M&A professional who enjoys operating close to strategic decision-making. Analytical and relationship-driven, you are confident assessing opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders and turning complex financial and commercial information into clear recommendations.

Essential Skills and Experience
* 5+ years' experience in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory or a related field
* A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
* Exposure to professional services, private equity-backed businesses or mid-market transactions will be highly regarded
* Strong financial modelling, valuation and due diligence capabilities
* Experience supporting or leading transaction execution activitiesExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills
