About the Role
Based in Kalgoorlie, in this key operational role, you'll support the Terminal Manager by overseeing terminal activities, guiding staff and contractors, and maintaining compliance with HSSEQ, regulatory requirements and internal standards. You'll also assist with maintenance planning, product stewardship and customer service to ensure seamless and cost‐effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and direct terminal staff and contractors to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations.
* Manage daily terminal activities, prioritising operational reliability and customer service.
* Coordinate maintenance activities to meet safety, reliability and cost objectives.
* Support implementation of terminal strategies, policies and operational plans.
* Monitor adherence to terminal rules, regulations and industry standards.
* Implement, review and optimise operating procedures to maintain consistent standards.
* Ensure all product handling meets statutory, HSSEQ and internal requirements.
* Follow Terminal Operating Manual and Work Instructions for product receipt processes.
* Assist with control of non‐routine work using the ATOM Control of Work system.
* Support safe tankship discharge operations (Shore Officer accreditation desirable).
* Partner with customers to manage stock levels, supply continuity and corrective actions.
* Oversee product stewardship aligned with fuels quality requirements.
Key Challenges & Complexities
* Managing product transfers and maintaining accurate stock control.
* Ensuring all maintenance and project work is completed safely, efficiently and cost‐effectively.
* Overseeing staff and personnel management within a high‐risk operating environment.
* Responding effectively to operating alarms and abnormal events in line with local procedures.
* Creating and sustaining a strong and proactive safety culture onsite.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk evaluation and safe work controls.
* Detailed knowledge of product receipt processes (tankships, rail, pipeline, road).
* Experience managing dangerous goods facilities and tank farm operations.
* Knowledge of vehicle loading gantries and bunkering operations.
* Skilled in developing and monitoring preventative maintenance plans and systems.
* Competent in computerised maintenance systems and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to support daily operations administration, including stock management systems.
