Support Mentor - Aboriginal Community Connectors Program
Kullarri Regional Communities Indigenous Corporation (KRCIC) is a Not-for-Profit organisation working to "Create positive and sustainable futures for Aboriginal people and communities in the Kullarri Region".
Established in 2003, KRCIC works closely with Aboriginal and remote residents to:
Enhance skills and training opportunities
Foster economic development and community-led enterprises
Improve overall wellbeing and improvement of life
KRCIC delivers a range of programs including RAES, IAS - Youth & Family Engagement, Ngurra Buru (Broome Night Space), Driver Training and is the sole provider of Parent Pathways and TtW services in the Kimberley region, based in Broome.
The Aboriginal Community Connectors Program (ACCP)
The ACCP delivers essential community services by providing transport to a safe place, diversion from unsafe situations, referrals to complementary services, mediation or de-escalation where safe to intervene for people who are at risk of harm and assistance to community members to attend local events and activities in the regions.
About The Role
The Support Mentor – Aboriginal Community Connectors Program (ACCP) provides practical transport and community support services to vulnerable individuals, families, youth, and Elders accessing the Aboriginal Community Connectors Program (ACCP). The role focuses on safe transportation, outreach support, participant engagement, and assisting clients to access essential services, appointments, activities, and safe places.
Qualifications / Requirements
National Police Clearance (not more than 3 months old, or willing to obtain one);
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
Hold or eligible to gain WA Passenger Transport Drivers Authorisation (PTD F endorsement)
First Aid Certificate, Mental Health First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain)
Ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace and demonstrate cultural competence.
