The Opportunity
We're scaling our Product & Engineering organisation and expanding our Sydney hub, and we're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who wants to shape the reliability, scalability, and security of a platform used by leading law firms around the world.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in automation, infrastructure, and systems thinking. You'll work across AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tooling, partnering closely with backend, full-stack, and AI teams to ensure Nexl is performant, resilient, and fast to ship to.
We're looking for someone who brings depth in cloud infrastructure, a high sense of ownership, and a bias for simplicity — someone who raises the bar, proactively improves systems, and uses AI tooling to streamline and elevate operational workflows.
Requirements
Must haves:
* Strong AWS + Kubernetes experience
* Experience with Terraform or otherIaC
* Experience building or improving CI/CD pipelines
* Strong observability and operational awareness
* Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems
* Familiarity with Ruby/Python-based environments
* Security-aware mindset
* Strong collaboration skills
* Growth mindset and a desire to continually raise the bar
* Fluency using AI tools as part of day-to-day engineering workflows
Nice to haves:
* Multi-cloud experience (Azure, )
* Cost optimisation experience
* Support for data-heavy or AI-driven systems
