Role Description
The full-time Behaviour Support Practitioner role is located on-site in Mackay, QLD. In this role, the Practitioner will assess, design, implement, and review positive behavior support strategies for individuals with diverse needs. Key responsibilities include conducting functional behavior assessments, developing intervention plans, providing coaching and training for individuals and their support networks, and ensuring all practices align with legal and ethical standards. The role also involves collaborating with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support participants' goals and enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications
* Experience in behavior assessments, designing and evaluating support plans, and implementing positive behavior strategies
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with families, caregivers, and multi-disciplinary teams
* Ability to coach and train support networks to effectively implement behavior support strategies
* Understanding of legal and ethical standards related to positive behavior support
* Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
* Registered or eligible for registration under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
* Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and person-centered practices
* Current Driver's License and ability to travel for work purposes
* Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals
