Network Engineer Role Overview
Job Description
This is a technical position responsible for implementing network infrastructure changes and upgrades, ensuring adherence to standards. The role involves long-term strategic planning for network infrastructure with the aim of migrating systems to the cloud, maintaining business processes and continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implementing network changes and upgrades across LAN, WAN, WiFi, firewalls, routers, switches (core and edge), hubs, and cabling.
* Monitoring internet gateway access and performance, plus measurements, reporting, and alerts.
* Applying network protocols and security across TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, and OSI layers 1 to 5.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Degree qualified in a related discipline - Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience in network infrastructure - Essential
Significant IT industry knowledge - Essential
Demonstrated working knowledge of systems infrastructure - Essential
Project Management qualifications - Desirable
