Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways.As a Psychologist (Neurodevelopmental), your role is responsible for the provision of neurodevelopmental assessments for children and adolescents presenting with developmental, behavioural, cognitive and learning concerns. Working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, across a range of service day-to-day duties will include:* Provide culturally appropriate neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, across multiple service locations. Assessments focused on but not limited to learning difficulties, cognition, ASD, ADHD, FASD.* Supports diagnostic clarification, treatment planning, educational recommendations and referrals to appropriate services.* Apply advanced clinical judgement and professional knowledge in decision-making appropriate to level of expertise.* Prepare comprehensive, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports and provide these within agreed service timeframes to support timely access to diagnosis, recommendations and intervention planning.* Advocate for clients to ensure access to appropriate services and supports.* Current Criminal History Check* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)* Current Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card)* Minimum of General Registration as Psychologist with AHPRA* Demonstrated skills and experience in completing neurodevelopmental assessments independently and within multidisciplinary team environments.* Demonstrated high-level communication and report writing skills, with the ability to effectively manage workload priorities, timeframes and organisational requirements.**Desirable, but not mandatory:*** Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities* Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, or Neuropsychology.* Area of Practice Endorsement with AHPRA in Clinical Psychology, Educational and Developmental Psychology, or Neuropsychology.* Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business.* Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health services and the issues facing these organisations.* Strong knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and quality improvement and experience in implementing practical systems to facilitate development of these in a service delivery setting.* Demonstrated skill in working in a primary care setting, in particular the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a sound understanding of your role in the cycle of care for a client.* Demonstrated understanding of other community services and their role in providing mental health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.* Demonstrated effective verbal and written skills with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, confidentiality and record keeping.*At IUIH we recognise that we operate in a diverse community and welcome and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disability.** At IUIH 'Our Collectivity is Our Strength'.* We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that invites applications from all people.* Be part of Australia's largest community controlled Aboriginal Health Service.* Access to \"Growing Our Own Opportunities\" through in-house training and programs.* Weekly Staff Wellness activities and all staff 'Gather and Grow' yarns and award ceremonies.* Opportunities to attend community events such as NAIDOC, Rugby League Carnivals and more.
