Estimator – Insurance Building
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Full Time. We're recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing insurance building business in Brisbane. This role would suit someone who understands the fast‐paced nature of insurance repairs and can confidently manage estimates from scope through to pricing, while working closely with internal teams, clients and insurers. You'll be joining a business with a strong pipeline of work and a solid reputation in the market, with the opportunity to take ownership of your estimates and play a key role in project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate estimates for insurance building and repair works
* Review scopes, drawings, reports and site information to build detailed costings
* Liaise with supervisors, trades, suppliers and internal stakeholders to confirm pricing and delivery requirements
* Assess labour, materials and subcontractor costs
* Work across residential insurance repair projects and ensure estimates are submitted in a timely manner
* Update and maintain project and estimating information within internal systems
* Support the wider team with pricing queries, variations and job cost reviews where required
What we're looking for:
* Previous experience in insurance estimating is essential
* Strong understanding of repair, restoration and reinstatement works
* Experience working with insurers such as Suncorp and Auto & General will be highly regarded
* Experience using Prime is highly desirable
* Trade background preferred, with carpentry qualifications highly regarded
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with operational teams
* High attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple jobs at once
* Solid understanding of local subcontractor and supplier pricing
