About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and drafting team.
You'll oversee all technical design work, ensure drawings and documentation meet standards, and coordinate with Project Managers to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the quality our clients expect.
This role is hands-on, you'll manage people, review designs, solve problems, and improve systems where needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate engineers and drafters across multiple projects.
* Oversee the accuracy, compliance, and quality of all engineering deliverables.
* Plan workloads, allocate resources, and monitor progress against schedule.
* Maintain and improve company drawing and design standards.
* Liaise with Project Managers, Operations, and clients to resolve technical issues.
* Ensure all engineering work complies with Australian Standards, ISO 9001, and contractual specifications.
* Mentor and develop staff through training and clear performance expectations.
* Identify practical improvements to design processes and documentation.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
* Minimum 5 years' leadership experience in fabrication or manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of mechanical or acoustic design principles.
* Confident reviewing and approving drawings and technical documents.
* Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, and related design software.
* Familiar with project scheduling and contract requirements.
* Clear communicator with well-developed organisational and decision-making skills.
