Norton Gold Fields is seeking an experienced and driven Underground Reliability Engineer to support the performance and reliability of our underground mobile fleet operations.
This role is responsible for analysing equipment performance, identifying recurring failures, and delivering reliability improvement initiatives that enhance equipment availability, reduce downtime, and improve lifecycle cost outcomes. Working closely with maintenance, planning, condition monitoring, and operational teams, you will play a key role in driving defect elimination, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence across underground operations.
Responsibilities
* Analyse fleet reliability, availability, and equipment performance trends using maintenance and condition monitoring data.
* Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations into major equipment failures and recurring defects.
* Develop and implement corrective actions to improve fleet reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
* Review and optimise maintenance strategies and preventative maintenance programs in line with OEM recommendations and site requirements.
* Coordinate reliability improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment uptime and component life.
* Collaborate with Condition Monitoring Technicians, Planners, Supervisors, and OEM representatives to identify and resolve equipment issues.
* Develop technical reports, KPI dashboards, and engineering performance summaries for operational and leadership teams.
* Support lifecycle planning, component forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning activities.
* Ensure all engineering recommendations and maintenance activities comply with WHS and environmental standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across underground maintenance operations.
About You
You are a proactive and technically capable Reliability Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience within underground or mobile maintenance environments.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering.
* Current unrestricted WA C Class Driver's Licence.
* Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable).
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in reliability or mobile maintenance engineering roles.
* Strong understanding of RCM, FMECA, and asset management principles.
* Experience with underground or mobile fleet maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.
* Knowledge of OEM maintenance practices, statutory servicing requirements, and maintenance strategy development.
* Experience using SAP PM, AMT, or similar CMMS platforms.
* Exposure to condition monitoring systems and defect elimination methodologies.
* Project management or asset management experience highly regarded.
Communication & Technical Skills
* Strong technical reporting and presentation skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
* Ability to work collaboratively with operational and technical teams.
* Advanced computer skills across SAP PM, Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
