About the Role

Teacher of Aboriginal Cultural Arts (Aboriginal Identified) – Paid to Learn

Location: Moree

Work type: Part-time (0.5 FTE - 17.5 hours per week)

Package: $111,798 - $132,585 per annum (includes salary $98,499 - $116,813 paid pro-rata, employer's superannuation and annual leave loading, subject to experience).

Closing date: 31 May 2026.

Responsibilities

Deliver educational programs and facilitate learning to enable students to achieve desired outcomes. Teach the rich history of Aboriginal Australia and cultural identity through cultural arts practices and your personal connection to Aboriginal culture and communities. Lead students through collaborative community art projects, creating their portfolio of work and establishing a strong foundation for their art journey.

Essential Requirements
* Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification. Candidates must provide confirmation of Aboriginality at or before interview.
* Appropriate subject knowledge, skills, and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate IV in Visual Arts (Ceramics or Cultural Arts highly regarded), Certificate IV in Design Fundamentals (Visual Arts), or equivalent experience.
* Current arts practice and active participation in the arts industry for the last three years.
* Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (or willingness to undertake the 14-week Paid-to-Learn course).
* A minimum of three years post-qualification experience relevant to your industry, gained within the last five years.
Additional Requirements
* Applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, identify as such, and be accepted in the community.
* Paid-to-Learn option is available for candidates without a VET teaching qualification.
* A Working with Children Check is required.
* Eligibility: Australian citizen, permanent resident of Australia, or New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
