About the Role

NNSWLHD is seeking General Practitioners with additional recognised qualification and appropriate training in forensic examination of suspected sexual assault (Paediatric, Adolescent and Adult) to provide a timely response to clients/patients requiring an immediate medical and/or forensic intervention following disclosure of sexual assault. Applicants with a willingness to undertake relevant training approved by the Local Health District are also welcome to apply.

Work as part of a 24/7 on‐call roster, responding within a two‐hour time frame and providing responses to designated NNSWLHD hospitals to deliver comprehensive services for optimal client/patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Eligibility

* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, and/or eligible for General registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have appropriate skills and training assessed by the Local Health District to provide specialist General Practice services.
* Hold a recognised qualification and appropriate training in forensic examination of suspected sexual assault (Adolescent, Adult and/or Paediatric) or willingness to undertake relevant training course as approved by the LHD.
* Demonstrated experience and recency of clinical practice of a high standard in relevant clinical areas such as forensic examination of sexual assault in adolescents, adults and/or paediatrics, sexual health, women's health, mental health and emergency medicine.
* Demonstrated high level and effective interpersonal and communication skills, including oral and written skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Willingness to work on‐call with the ability to respond to Sexual Assault presentations within two (2) hours of request.
* Valid unrestricted driver's licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
