About the Role
In this hands-on and rewarding position, you will:
* Help clients with personal care and daily tasks, based on their needs, choices and preferences
* Support social, recreational and wellbeing activities so clients feel involved and connected
* Help create a safe, friendly and comfortable day respite space that feels like home
* Assist clients to go on outings and join community activities, events and celebrations
* Help clients move safely and take part in activities
* Write clear and accurate notes about each person's care and wellbeing
* Follow food safety rules, infection control and workplace health and safety rules
* Work well with other support workers, volunteers, families and carers
About You
You're caring, reliable and purpose driven. You will bring:
* Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, or a related care qualification
* Experience in aged care, disability or community services
* A compassionate and respectful approach to supporting people of all ages
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain), as you will engage with clients' family and friends across all ages
* A current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain); Food Safety Certification is advantageous
* The ability to work well within a supportive, team-based environment
* Willingness to work within a Christian values-based organisation
* A current National Criminal History Check suitable for aged care (or willingness to obtain)
