Location: Tygervalley, Western Cape, South Africa Afrimat Management Services Has a Vacancy For a Data Analyst Specialist Afrimat is currently seeking the services of a Data Analyst Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and analyzing data to generate insights that support informed decision-making across the organisation. This role plays a critical part in transforming raw data into meaningful information by identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic initiatives. Minimum Qualifications / Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or Engineering
* A minimum of 10 years' professional experience in analytical or data-driven roles
* Proven experience performing analytical work within a strong analytical environment or department
* Demonstrated business critical-thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
* Experience in building data models using tools such as Qlik and Power BI
* Valid Drivers Licence
* The candidate must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
* Providing actionable recommendations based on analysis
* Assisting business teams in making data-driven decisions
* Working with stakeholders to understand business needs and tailor analyses to address specific challenges
* Partnering with IT, database administrators, and data engineers for data access and infrastructure needs
* Using statistical and analytical methods to uncover trends, patterns, and relationships within the data
* Performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand the data better
* Creating dashboards, charts, and reports to present findings in a clear and visually appealing way
* Using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Qlik
* Design and implement data models to support analytics and reporting requirements
* Develop and maintain data dictionaries and metadata for structured understanding of datasets
* Optimize data structures for performance and scalability across systems
* Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and technical specifications
* Perform gap analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
* Prepare and present business cases supported by data-driven evidence for decision-making
