Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager Squadron Energy and secondary to the Uungula Project Manager, the Senior Project Controls Engineer is responsible for coordinating and applying best practice Cost Management on Squadron's Uungula Wind Farm Project. This role will engage and collaborate with the Uungula Project team, the PMO, and stakeholders across the entire Squadron Delivery Portfolio in facilitating project controls management and reporting.
This permanent role offers flexibility for FIFO/DIDO or local candidates and the opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate best practice cost management for development and pre‑FID project phases.
* Manage project cost, change‑management tools, systems, and reports, ensuring alignment with our Project Controls Framework.
* Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Support procurement, tender evaluations, and capital estimate preparation.
* Conduct cost and schedule risk analysis, benchmarking, and provide general cost support for key investment decisions.
* Develop and maintain Basis of Estimate (BoE) documentation and facilitate cost workshops.
* Liaise with finance and scheduling teams to ensure integrated project controls and reporting.
* Mentor and provide guidance to project teams on cost and change management tools and principles.
* Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, company policies, and stakeholder engagement standards.
About You
* Minimum 7 years' experience in project controls within large infrastructure projects or a Project Management Office.
* Proven expertise in cost management, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash‑flow projections.
* Strong experience with integrated project controls systems; SAP S4HANA and Ecosys experience highly regarded.
* Advanced skills in data analytics and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
* Current driver's licence and White Card.
