Unique School Solutions is working with a specialist school in Doncaster to fill the position of a SEND Teaching Assistant. The role involves working with approximately 14 students with a range of SEND needs, providing educational and emotional support in lower Key Stage 3.

Working hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (term time only)
Salary: £500 per week (term time)
Start date: ASAP
Responsibilities
* Support up to 14 students with SEND needs, including Autism, Global Delay, and Speech and Language challenges.
* Assist students with differentiated learning strategies and alternative learning approaches.
* Work closely with a class teacher and three other teaching assistants to implement classroom plans.
* Provide personal care and maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment.

Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working with children with SEND in a school/college setting within the last 2 years.
* Knowledge of differentiated learning opportunities.
* Good physical fitness; the role is demanding.
* Patience, empathy, and calmness.
* Ability to work under the direction of the class teacher while using personal initiative.
* Desirable: personal care and Makaton experience (not essential).

Regulatory and Screening
Applicants will undergo child protection screening and an enhanced DBS certificate. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Barred List Check. A self‐disclosure is required for shortlisted candidates.
