Due to continued growth across our venue operations, live events, and accommodation offering, The Lansdowne Hotel is seeking an additional full‐time Venue Supervisor to join our leadership team and support the day‐to‐day operation of one of Sydney's most iconic hospitality and live entertainment venues.
More than just a pub, The Lansdowne combines food & beverage operations, live music and events, and boutique accommodation, creating a unique environment where no two shifts are the same.
You will work alongside an existing leadership team to help drive service standards, operational excellence, and memorable guest experiences across all areas of the business.
This is a hands‐on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading teams, coordinating service, and helping deliver unforgettable nights.
About the Role
Reporting to Venue Management, the Venue Supervisor will oversee daily operations across bar, floor, food service, live music coordination, and accommodation support, ensuring service standards, operational efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences.
You will act as a key shift leader and become an important link between our venue team, artists, guests, hostel operations, and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
Venue Operations & Leadership
* Supervise daily Food & Beverage operations across bar, restaurant, and floor service.
* Lead shifts and support team performance through active floor presence.
* Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain a welcoming venue atmosphere.
* Coordinate opening and closing procedures and ensure operational checklists are completed.
* Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness, and service standards.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching of team members.
* Assist with staff scheduling, shift handovers, and daily operational reporting.
Live Music & Events
* Coordinate live music operations from the floor during show nights.
* Act as the key operational contact when bands and touring crews arrive onsite.
* Support artist arrivals, venue readiness, backstage coordination, and event flow.
* Liaise with production, security, management, promoters, and contractors.
* Assist in delivering gigs, functions, launches, and special events.
Food, Beverage & Commercial Performance
* Support stock management, ordering, stocktakes, wastage control, and venue profitability.
* Maintain high beverage knowledge across cocktails, wine, beer, and premium service standards.
* Assist with bookings, group reservations, and event coordination.
* Drive upselling initiatives across F&B;, events, and accommodation.
Accommodation Operations
* Support the operation of our boutique hostel/accommodation offering.
* Assist reception and accommodation coordination when required.
* Help ensure guest satisfaction across overnight stays and shared spaces.
Technology & Systems
* Operate and oversee venue systems and smart technology platforms.
* Use iPads and mobile‐based systems to manage venue operations, bookings, controls, communications, and reporting.
* Experience using digital venue systems, POS platforms, and mobile‐based operational tools is advantageous.
* Adapt confidently to a technology‐driven environment where many operational systems are integrated digitally.
Compliance & Administration
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, RSA requirements, venue policies, and operational procedures.
* Handle guest feedback and incident management professionally.
* Complete shift reports, operational notes, and venue communication.
About You
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience in hospitality.
* Strong Food & Beverage operational experience.
* Experience working in busy pubs, bars, live music venues, events, entertainment, or late‐night environments will be highly regarded.
* Passion for live music, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
* Confident managing teams and making decisions during busy service periods.
* Comfortable working with technology, iPads, and app‐based operational systems.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* NSW RSA Competency Card.
* Availability across evenings, weekends, public holidays, and late‐night trading.
* Full working rights in Australia (no restrictions).

Schedule
* Tuesday to Sunday
* Rotating roster across opening and closing shifts
* Availability to work across day, evening, and late‐night trading periods as required.
