Job Summary
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across South West Sydney by leading the planning and delivery of healthy eating and active living initiatives. In this role, you will engage local communities to promote important health messages, including falls prevention, while building strong partnerships to support impactful healthy ageing programs. Working alongside a passionate and knowledgeable team, you will play a key role in empowering older adults to live healthier, more active, and independent lives.
Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and delivery of healthy eating and active living initiatives for older adults across South West Sydney.
* Engage local communities to promote important health messages, including falls prevention.
* Build strong partnerships with other staff and community organisations to support impactful healthy ageing programs.
* Empower older adults to live healthier, more active, and independent lives.
* Work collaboratively with a passionate and knowledgeable team to deliver high-quality community health initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
* Proven experience in health promotion.
* Ability to effectively engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
* Ability to tailor messages to a wide range of audiences and drive meaningful participation.
* Organised, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality community health initiatives.
Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in health or related field.
* Demonstrated knowledge of current health promotion theory and experience in planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination, particularly relating to healthy eating and active living in the older population.
* Understanding of issues that may impact service delivery in priority populations including social disadvantage, Aboriginal communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and older adults, with demonstrated ability to adapt programs and approaches to meet the needs of these groups.
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain partnerships with other staff and government, non-government and community organisations, including experience working collaboratively to support project planning, delivery and evaluation.
* Demonstrated digital literacy, organisational, problem-solving and team skills, including the ability to use a range of digital systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, survey/data collection platforms e.g. REDCap) to plan, monitor and evaluate projects; and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's licence (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class licence from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class licence within three months of appointment. Learner's licences are not permitted.
