Position Objective
This position manages the coordination of the recruitment processes and systems and assists in the administrative management of the application process, selection and recommendation of applicants seeking to join the Western Australia Police Force as a police officer, police auxiliary officer or police cadet. Provides specialist Human Resources (HR) advice and identifies continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives.
Key Qualifications
* Knowledge of recruitment and selection assessment methodologies and legislation – Understanding and applying recruitment and selection methodologies to inform the selection of applicants. Developing and implementing recruitment strategies and initiatives. Understanding and applying substantive equality, employment and equity legislation.
* Supervisory skills – Supervising a team to deliver quality outcomes. Providing direction and guidance and setting priorities to achieve objectives in a changing environment.
Applicants must also submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) with enough detail to allow the selection panel to assess skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the key accountabilities.
Applicants should nominate two referees, including at least one immediate supervisor or manager.
Other Conditions
Although initially used to fill the mentioned vacancy, the selection process may also be used to fill similar vacancies across the metropolitan area. The panel may select another suitable applicant if the initial choice declines. Options remain valid for twelve months from the date of appointment.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted for applicants not currently employed by the WA Police Force. Relocation costs may be the successful applicant's responsibility.
