Responsibilities
* Analyse client risk exposures and workers' compensation portfolios to recommend cost-effective placement and risk‐transfer strategies aligned with client objectives.
* Prepare clear underwriting submissions, renewal proposals, quotations and placement documentation that articulate risk profile, coverage options and financial implications.
* Respond promptly to client queries, resolve issues to maintain satisfaction and escalate complex matters when required.
* Support the design, development and market positioning of new brokerage products and programs to secure new projects and expand service offerings.
* Assist senior brokers and large employers with complex multi‐state policies, self‐insurance or managed fund structures, bespoke arrangements and contractual reviews.
* Monitor market conditions, insurer appetite and pricing trends, translating market intelligence into practical placement advice and briefing junior brokers.
Qualifications
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian workers' compensation legislation across jurisdictions and premium determination methods, including experience with retrospective rating and loss‐sensitive schemes.
* Experience with self‐insurance, managed fund/nominal insurer arrangements, excess layers and reinsurance placements.
* Proficiency in claims exposure assessment, financial analysis and interpretation of financial statements and industry metrics.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, time management and conflict resolution skills.
