An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic **Diagnostic Medical Physicist** to join **our Medical Physics Department**.
**Details of Department**
The Medical Physics department provides services across the Austin Health network ranging from imaging equipment performance testing and quality control programmes, radiation dose monitoring, education, research and development.
**Details of position/position requirements**
The position is a Medical Physicist Trainee, Gr1. Working towards being ACPSEM certified as a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist.
**To be successful in this role you must demonstrate/Key responsibilities will include**:
- Under appropriate supervision, assist in the Radiology and Catheterisation Laboratory equipment quality control system and radiation safety program.
- Programming/machine learning.
- Provide support to the operation, education, training and research functions in Radiology, Catheterisation Laboratory and Theatres. This can involve optimising the operational effectiveness and efficiency of equipment use and information workflow within and external to the departments.
- Assist in the supervise Grade 1 medical physicists as required.
- Assisting the Austin Health Radiation Safety Officer and other staff.
- Undertake research and development.
