Overview
Bar Vino is entering an exciting new chapter. Located in the heart of Mount Lawley, Bar Vino is an all-day neighbourhood venue offering breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner, with a strong focus on warm service, seasonal Italian-inspired food, quality wine and genuine hospitality.
With seating for 60 guests including a heritage dining room and lively streetside alfresco, the venue operates breakfast and lunch seven days per week, with dinner service Tuesday to Saturday, and functions and events as required.
We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Venue Manager in leading the floor, maintaining service standards and helping the venue continue to grow.
The Role
This role would suit someone with a genuine passion for wine and a natural ability to share that knowledge in a relaxed, confident and approachable way. We are not simply looking for someone who can sell wine, but someone who truly enjoys it, is eager to continue learning, and wants to help foster a stronger wine culture within both the team and the venue.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading daily service across breakfast, lunch and dinner
* Supervising and supporting the front-of-house team
* Maintaining warm, polished and consistent service standards
* Bringing strong wine knowledge and confidence to the floor
* Assisting with wine service, staff training and guest recommendations
* Helping maintain and grow the wine program with the wider management team
* Supporting reservations, floor plans and guest enquiries
* Assisting with stock control, ordering and daily venue procedures
* Training and guiding junior team members
* Ensuring opening, closing and daily reporting tasks are completed properly
About You
* Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or strong senior waiter
* A deep interest in wine, wine service and guest experience
* Good wine knowledge, or a serious willingness to keep learning
* Confidence talking about wine in a natural and approachable way
* Strong floor presence and attention to detail
* A genuine love of hospitality and guest service
* Confidence leading a small team during service
* Clear communication and a calm, professional approach
* Availability across a mix of days, evenings and weekends
