An opportunity exists for a seasoned Senior Algorithms Engineer to join a cross-functional team building advanced real-time detection and tracking systems. This role involves shaping the evolution of a sensor fusion engine designed to detect and respond to next‐gen aerial threats, with a particular focus on swarm tracking and performance optimisation.
Working within a fast‐paced, collaborative environment, this engineer will apply expertise in algorithm development, performance tuning, and real‐time data processing to deliver high‐performance solutions in live deployments.
Responsibilities
* Lead innovation within a sensor fusion engine by improving tracking capabilities for high‐density threat scenarios
* Design, profile, and optimise real‐time, data‐intensive applications using multi‐threading, language bindings, and GPU acceleration
* Implement and assess novel tracking algorithms, drawing on current academic research and internal validation
* Maintain CI/CD infrastructure that enforces high code quality, runtime stability, and release integrity
* Contribute to cross‐disciplinary projects by collaborating with engineers across software, embedded, and AI teams
* Apply structured engineering principles including testing, version control, and modular refactoring
* Assist in troubleshooting system behaviour and supporting downstream users in integration efforts
* Support observability and diagnostics through performance metrics and system instrumentation
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
* 5+ years of experience in software engineering or algorithm development roles
* Proficiency in modern C++ with additional experience in Python or other OOP languages
* Experience working with GPU‐based computation frameworks (e.g. CUDA, TensorRT)
* Familiarity with software performance profiling and code optimisation techniques
* Comfortable using CMake, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks, and Git
* Experience with Linux‐based development and Docker‐based environments
* Strong grasp of data structures, computational complexity, and applied mathematics
* Knowledge of multi‐object tracking, sensor fusion, or multi‐sensor systems
* Background in applied machine learning or probabilistic inference
* Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
Ideal Profile
* Highly analytical with a deep interest in performance‐critical systems
* Passionate about solving real‐world challenges using elegant, efficient code
* Capable of leading the transition from research concepts to production‐grade implementations
* Thrives in agile, fast‐paced, and technically challenging environments
* Comfortable working independently or collaboratively across functional areas
