Overview
Saab Australia is an industry participant in the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement (CSI-IPT CCA). The CSI-IPT CCA brings together three industry participants and the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to work on the Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA4000 Phase 6) and Hunter Class Frigates (SEA5000 Phase 1) programs. As part of our Engineering and Sustainment Services group, the Associate Verification and Validation Engineer will contribute to the delivery of the team outputs such as acceptance test planning, sequencing, asset coordination and execution for designated acceptance tests, including quality control over acceptance tests to ensure they demonstrably meet their requirements and are fit for purpose.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development and delivery of relevant CDRLs such as the V&V; Plan, Acceptance Test Plans, Verification Cross‐Reference Matrices, Acceptance Test Procedures and Acceptance Test Reports.
* Support the development, maintenance and update of non‐CDRL V&V; artefacts.
* Support the execution of major program milestones and MSRs.
* Support the V&V; team liaising with a range of stakeholders across the Program with respect to V&V; governance, test planning, test sequencing, and test execution over all phases of the V&V; program.
* Contribute to the closure of working group actions with key stakeholders as tasked by the V&V; Lead or other senior V&V; Engineers.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field) and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).
* Up to 2 years' experience in systems engineering activities prior to this role.
* Familiarity in using systems engineering software tools and simulation environments (e.g., DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, etc.).
* Fundamental understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
* Basic familiarity with military systems or related defence technologies (desirable).
* Familiarity with System Engineering in an ASDEFCON context (desirable).
* Basic analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced and dynamic setting.
* Australian citizen, able to obtain NV1 security clearance.
Working Conditions
