This role will be based in Abu Dhabi, working for a UAE Government customer. Australian Citizens are preferred and visa costs are covered.
The General Aviation Instructor conducts classroom, field, and On the Job Training, and assists in developing maintenance training programs to enhance trainee skills. The instructor conducts trainee assessment, provides remedial training where necessary, reviews course material with the course developer to maintain training effectiveness, and maintains records of training activities and student attendance.
Must communicate well with others, instill a teamwork mentality, and lead by example.
Key Accountabilities
* Perform instruction in classroom and field environments on aircraft safety principles, use of technical publications and aviation regulations, performing maintenance fundamentals, inspections, servicing of aircraft systems and components, and other maintenance‐related topics.
* Work with course developers, providing technical information and guidance to develop instructional materials.
* Review, provide expertise, assist in development, and/or revise courses' instructional materials using a systems approach to training (SAT or ADDIE).
* Assist in preparing syllabi for maintenance courses to produce employees qualified to perform aircraft maintenance.
* Prepare instructional materials for specific platforms and related courseware.
* Conduct classroom and field instruction as required.
* Perform intermediate and terminal assessments to determine learning progress.
* Review assessment reports and course evaluations to amend training courses, ensuring effectiveness.
* Maintain student attendance records, discipline information, and manage the learning process.
* Maintain trainee records and collaborate with other instructors.
* Perform any other duties assigned by the Training Supervisor or Manager.
* Maintain general housekeeping for all assigned areas.
Specific Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years experience teaching aviation maintenance subjects such as avionics, A&P, human factors, PPE, tool control, corrosion, TAMMS, SMS, etc.
* Knowledge of and experience in training methodologies and management using a systems approach (SAT or ADDIE) is highly desirable.
* Proven technical experience on air platforms from UAE, US, Australia and/or South Korea.
* Strong knowledge of Special Operations mission requirements, equipment, and maintenance programs.
* Strong program management background with understanding of contract law and aviation contract terminology.
* Strong charismatic and delegating attributes.
* Ability to work well with other departments.
