Carpenter – South of the River | Pathway to Supervisor/Leading Hand
We're looking for a skilled carpenter who's based south of the river and happy to work across that side on a daily basis. You'll be working across multiple key clients, and over time you'll be shadowed and mentored by our Minor Works Managers — a genuine opportunity to step off the tools in the years to come and move into a Supervisor or Leading Hand role.
About the Role
This is a hands‐on carpentry role with a clear pathway forward. You'll be on the tools day‐to‐day, but from day one you'll be exposed to how jobs are run, managed and delivered — so when the opportunity comes, you're ready to step up.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out high‐quality carpentry work across multiple sites south of the river
* Working across a range of key client jobs on a daily basis
* Being closely shadowed and mentored by our Minor Works Managers
* Learning how jobs are scoped, scheduled and supervised
* Reading plans and understanding what needs to be built
* Keeping sites tidy, safe and running smoothly
* Liaising with other trades on site as required
* Flagging issues early and helping problem‐solve
* Gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills and confidence grow
What We're Looking For
* A qualified, all‐round carpenter with solid on‐the‐tools experience
* Someone based south of the river (or genuinely happy working that side daily)
* Eager to skill up over time into a Supervisor or Leading Hand position
* Reliable, organised and takes pride in their work
* Good communicator who works well with clients and other trades
* Keen to learn the management side of the business
