Marketing and Communications Officer
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Marketing and Communications Officer. This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
Position Details
This is a 12-month, full-time position with immediate start, preferably from 1 July 2026. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, with an option for accruals of a monthly rostered day off.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Marketing and Communications Coordinator with delivery of the Shire's communications, including strategic and operational plans.
* Work closely with internal departments to communicate activities, events, and decisions through communication action plans.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working in marketing and communications with well-developed written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to proof‐read accurately.
* Qualifications or experience in public relations, journalism, graphic design, marketing, or communications is advantageous.
* Previous experience in local government is highly regarded.
