Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinician to join their team in either their Townsville or Cairns office. About the Role
As a Clinician, you will provide high quality counselling, assessment, case management and therapeutic intervention services to eligible clients. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will support individuals, couples and families experiencing a range of mental health and wellbeing concerns.
You will apply your clinical expertise to conduct evidence based assessments, develop care plans, manage risk, and deliver interventions tailored to client needs. The role also involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated and holistic care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver evidence based clinical services including Intake and assessment, risk assessment and intervention, Individual, couple and family counselling
* Referral and case management services
* Develop and maintain confidential client records, care plans and progress notes using the Client Management System
* Conduct counselling reviews and monitor client progress to determine ongoing support needs
* Liaise with family members, treatment providers and key stakeholders to coordinate client care
* Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews and Continuing Professional Development
* Support the delivery of group treatment and psychoeducation programs
* Contribute to community engagement, service promotion, research and quality improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, ethical standards, policies and procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Experience delivering trauma informed, client centred counselling and mental health interventions
* Strong clinical assessment and risk management capabilities
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Sound judgement and the ability to manage complex or sensitive situations calmly and effectively
* High levels of integrity, emotional intelligence and professionalism
* Strong written documentation and IT skills
* The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
* You must be an Australian Citizen
Mandatory Requirements
* Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain: A Working with Vulnerable People registration or A Working with Children Check
* Registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration; or
* Social Worker eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); or
* A Master's level counselling qualification with: PACFA registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor; or ACA registration at Level 3 or Level 4
